Report: NIOC expects to sign 2 oil fields deal with Lukoil soon
MOSCOW, Feb 20 (PRIME) -- National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) expects to sign a final agreement with Russian oil company Lukoil on development of the Ab Teimour and Mansouri oil fields soon, news agency Mehr reported on February 19, citing CEO Ali Kardor.
“So far, agreements have been reached with Maersk of Denmark for development of South Pars oil layer, Russia’s Lukoil to develop and increase recovery factor of Mansouri and Ab Teimour oil fields, Germany’s Wintershall Holding GmbH for expansion of four western oil fields as well as France’s Total for South Pars Phase 11,” Kardor said.
Iran has outlined about 70 oil and natural gas fields that it said it will open to foreign investors as the country seeks funding and technology after international sanctions eased in 2016.
Gati Al-Jebouri, Lukoil’s head of upstream for the Middle East, said earlier that the opening of Iran is seen one of the key factors of the Lukoil business extension in the region, planned for the near future.
